Queer British Art -Tate Britain, 5th April - 1st October 2017

Marking the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of male homosexuality in the UK, this wonderful collection of playful, political, erotic and even domestic art from 1867 to 1967 reveals a diverse range of sexualities and stories. Take pleasure in this visual celebration of difference and of community dating from before labels like lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans came into being, with work from John Singer Sargeant, David Hockey (don't miss out on Hockney's 2017 Tate retrospective, either!) and Dora Carrington.

Big Release - Beauty and the Beast

Hogwarts graduate Emma Watson takes on the legendary fairytale and gives the much-loved Disney version a modern feminist makeover, recasting the previously pretty but under-occupied Belle as an inventor of a washing machine device so she could read all day free of domestic drudgery.  Hotly anticipated, the trailer for the film is already the most viewed in the history of the internet.

Opening Season at The Other Palace

Formerly the St James's theatre, The Other Palace is the new home of musical theatre, with its first season launching this year. We're espescially looking forward to La Strada, a new take on the Oscar-winning film by Federico Fellini which tells the story of Gelsomina, a young woman sold by her impoverished mother to a travelling sideshow strongman and their picaresque journey through Italy, eventually finding happiness with a circus.
