Buchanan Galleries raise over £8,000 for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity

Buchanan Galleries has raised a spectacular £8,626 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity through its indoor beach, which brought the fun of the seaside indoors during the summer months.

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (formerly Yorkhill Children’s Charity), sits at the heart of the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow raising funds to ensure that young patients and their families have the best possible care and experience.

As well as their innovative hospital play programme which brings joy and excitement to young patients when they need it most, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity also funds enhanced medical equipment, research and family support services to care for patients at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital.

The beach was open daily from June through to August and was considered one of the top activities to do during the summer holidays.

Over 15,000 visited the beach since it opened its doors on June 4th, resulting in a fantastic amount of money raised for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. Half of the £2 entry fee went directly to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, which will help to fund the charity’s hospital play programme.

Clare Livingston, Buchanan Galleries marketing manager said: “We have been overwhelmed by the success of the indoor beach and generosity of its visitors. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who brought their children along to the beach and for supporting such a great cause. We are delighted to have raised over £8,000 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity”.

Kirsten Sinclair, Director of Fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “It has been wonderful partnering with Buchanan Galleries on the Indoor beach and we are thrilled with the amount of money that has been raised. Many children who visited the beach have first-hand experience of what it’s like to be treated at the Royal Hospital for Children and the funds donated will guarantee patients continue to receive the upmost of care.”
