Our generous shoppers have helped raise over £30,000 for three key homelessness charities in Cardiff – Huggard, Llamau and The Wallich – beating the target set by over £10,000!

Throughout April and May, we partnered with cult Cardiff brand I Loves the ‘Diff to raise money by creating five exclusive Cardiff-themed prints. From artwork that celebrated literary greats with a Welsh twist, to city landmarks such as the stone animals that guard Cardiff Castle, the prints were strictly limited to 1,000 copies per week and exclusively available here at St David’s. Prints were sold for a minimum donation of £3 and were quickly snapped up by thousands of shoppers throughout the appeal.

During each Saturday, thousands of shoppers queued throughout the day to get their hands on the exclusive artwork. The Keepers of the Wall and The ‘Diff prints sold out within a matter of hours! Plus, donations given didn’t stop at £3 - one very generous customer donated £70.

On top of the funds raised by shoppers, we added a further £6,000 donation, increasing the total sum raised, with all money being split between the three charities. Huggard, Llamau and The Wallich all focus on helping people in Cardiff and beyond out of the cycle of homelessness. The funds raised will ensure that all three charities can continue to carry out vital work, from the running of hostels, to day centres and support groups that aim to prevent homelessness before it happens, which can ultimately save lives.
